Vincent Pastore has sadly died.
On Saturday (August 1), Deadline announced that the actor, best known for playing Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on The Sopranos, had passed away at the age of 80.
Vincent was found dead in his Bronx residence by a neighbor after he had not been heard from for the past three days. The circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated.
“Vinnie was a great guy, he would help anyone and was very charitable,” his longtime manager Bob McGowan told the outlet.
After having minor parts in early 1990s movies including Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way, and Men of Respect, Vincent rose to prominence with his roles in 1995’s The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti, in which he appeared alongside future Sopranos co-stars Tony Sirico, Frank Vincent, and Dominic Chianese.
Vincent is survived by his daughter Renee.
